Between great opera and oratorio, between heavenly salvation and desire of the infernal – with »La damnation de Faust«, Hector Berlioz – known for his eccentricity – created one of the most individualistic »Faust« adaptations. With Terry Gilliam’s production, which was produced for the English National Opera in 2011, the first operatic direction of the Monty Python legend is now on stage of the Staatsoper.
